Right way to bring up a kid!!!

Currently travelling in the train and heading towards Kolkata, Sukato has two couples with their kids in and around his seat. One of them is Marwadi and the another is Bengali. The Marwadi kid is pampered, happy and obidient. His mother does not do too much for him. All that I saw is she feeds him in time, listens to him non understandable language and loves him unconditionally!!!!

Now coming to the Bengali couple, they too love their daughter and feed her in time, but then there are unnecessary warnings given by them to their 2-3 year kid about do not do this or do not do that!!!! How irritating. The lady is just too much as a wife and a mother, the poor husband is managing between his arrogant wife and his cute daughter.

This made him ponder on the way the Bengali couples bring up their kids. Sukanto Bhattacharya is definitely a Bengali and hence he feels he can a level of understanding where he can comment on their upbringing mode. He does not know how the other community people bring up their child, however he has seen a couple of cases of his non bengali colleagues and friends where they do not do overtly for their kid and things are perfectly fine there!!!

As a kid Sukanto (a bengali kid) got ample love and care from parents. He was brought up rightfully which his parents explaining him right from the time he went up growing about what is right and what is wrong, which way he should follow and which he should not, who is the right person to make friend who is not, which program to watch in TV and which not. He was not allowed to see movies when he was a kid, he was not allowed to watch his favorite program in TV, there was no cable connection in Sukanto's house as his parents thought it might mislead their kid and he will end up being nothing!!!! Inspite of all these Sukanto went on making some useless friends, did everything he can do under his restricting parents without getting noticed and tried to live a free life under the strict scrutiny of his parents. No he never felt like his parents are not caring or loving, rather he always felt that his parents are overtly loving and caring - to the extent which makes him feel uncomfortable.

Sukanto is a grown up man now, he works in a big MNC, earns a good salary, and loves to live his life in his own way. But one syndrome that he suffers is that - he is never been able to make proper decisions in life!!!! Yes he stands by all this decisions mostly bad and only a few good ones but he suffers and gets nervous everytime he has to make a decision. His parents stay with him and still at some points he feels they are getting overtly caring for him and feels uneasy.

Sukanto is single and has made a firm decision - he will never stop his kid from what he/she wants to do. Neither will he actually pamper his kid nor will he actually let him/her go out of his hand. He has seen the upbringing of kids in many non Bengali families and in some cases he is very influenced the way they bring up their kids. Sukanto feels this is the ideal way let the child go in a direction he/she wants to go and then allow him/her to walk or run in that direction till he sees his child is running into a danger. Life will show his kid many miseries and he will not protect him/her overtly from them rather will always help him/her in protecting himself/herself and making a wise decision. He will never let him/her become like his/her would be father i.e. Sukanto is.

With this thought he gets happy and at the same time feels bad when he looks around the troublesome couple and their endangered kid. He feels pity, sigh, he cannot do anything about it!!!
